xu jianhua

                                           Dr. Jianhua XU is a distinguished professor in East China Normal University.
In 1990, he got a bachelor’s degree in the department of applied physics in National University of Defense Technology.
In 1995, he received his Ph.D degree in Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
He was an associate professor from 1995 to 1999 in department of physics in Fudan University.
From 1999 to 2001, he worked in FOM-Institute for Plasma Physics “Rijnhuizen” in the Netherlands as a Research Scientist.
He has been working in National Institutes of Health since 2001.
His current research interests include
(a). Ultrafast Laser Spectroscopy and Microscopy: Coherent Antistokes Raman Spectroscopy, Stimulated Emission Depletion Microscopy, Adaptive Optics Scanning Microscopy, etc.
(b). Ultrafast Biomolecular Dynamics: Hydration dynamics, Conformation transformations, etc.
(c). Ultrafast Laser Technology and Phenomena: 10 fs Ti: sapphire laser and amplifier, fs laser-induced plasma switching, single-shot measurement of THz pulses, etc.
